Position description-
Teach in Thailand placements are at either Primary or Secondary schools with the option of teaching at both levels in many institutions. Placements are available in a wide range of urban and rural locations throughout Thailand, though most placements are made in the Central and Northern provinces. Placements are driven by the demand for English-speaking teachers and the requirements of each host institution, so CIEE cannot guarantee to honor your placement requests.
- A typical teaching load is 22 classes per week, depending on the school. In addition to actual time spent in the classroom, participants are expected to devote time to class planning, presentations, faculty meetings, and a modicum of extra-curricular activities. Participants should assume a 35-40 work week.

Non Immigrant B visa. The visa will change to a work permit once in Thailand and is tied to the educational institution specifically.
For the full duration of your stay, housing is provided free of charge by the host educational institution. Most teachers will have their own single apartment, however, sometimes you will have to share accommodation with one or two other teachers. In this situation, you would have your own private bedroom.
- Pick up from airport and 7-day all-inclusive orientation in Bangkok and Kanchanaburi
- Orientation hosted by our partner organization Overseas Education Group. The orientation provides vital information; TEFL theory and practice/teaching methodologies, cultural information, language classes and the opportunity to meet other teachers on the program .
- Sightseeing trips and excursions provided
- Transfer to school campus after orientation
- Receive salary of minimum 15,000 baht (approximately $460CDN) per month by the educational institution
- The return portion of your airfare from Bangkok will be reimbursed by the educational host institution upon successful completion of a full academic year or a two semester contract
- Host school provides at least one coordinator (usually an English teacher) to help you through the entire length of your teaching program.
- Electronic Welcome Pack and Final Kit to assist with trip preparation
- Handbook with useful cultural and tourist information, teaching advice and local resources
