The Thailand Package at a Glance
Eligibility: Canadians aged 20-65. No student status required. You must be fully fluent in English. Applicants must currently hold a Bachelors degree in any major. Applicants must commit to a five or ten-month work term (one or two semesters). The academic year starts in May.
Registration Deadline: Registration for October semester will open in May 2012.
Repeat Participation: Yes
Visa Duration: Reflects your term of employment. 1st semester: May - Sept, 2nd semester: Oct - March.
Accommodation upon arrival: For the full duration of your stay, housing is provided free of charge by the host educational institution.

Visa
Non Immigrant B visa. The visa will change to a work permit once in Thailand and is tied to the educational institution specifically.
Accomodations
Housing is provided free of charge by the host educational institution, for the full duration of your stay.
Most teachers will be housed in single apartments or share accommodation with one or two other teachers. In this situation, you would have your own private bedroom.
Support
- Pick up from airport and 6-day all-inclusive orientation in Bangkok and Kanchanaburi
- Orientation hosted by our Thai partner organization, Overseas Education Group. The orientation provides vital information; TEFL theory and practice/teaching methodologies, cultural information, language classes and the opportunity to meet other teachers on the program
- Sightseeing trips and excursions provided
- Transfer to school campus after orientation
- Receive salary of minimum 18,000 baht (approximately $500-600 CDN) per month by the educational institution
- The return portion of your airfare from Bangkok will be reimbursed by the educational host institution upon successful completion of a full academic year or a two semester contract
- Host school provides at least one coordinator (usually an English teacher) to help you through the entire length of your teaching program

Include the following documents as part of your registration
- Read the "Teach in Thailand at a Glance" eligibility information to ensure you meet all the requirements
- Print out the SWAP Teach in Thailand Registration Pack & read the Terms and Conditions listed on the last page.
- Once you understand and accept the Terms and Conditions, complete the SWAP Teach in Thailand Registration Pack. Don't forget to sign and date the form!
- Take your Registration Pack and the document outlined below to your nearest Travel CUTS/Voyages Campus, Adventure Travel Company or Merit Odyssey Travel office. Our travel counsellors are there to process your registration and contact SWAP to arrange your phone interview.
- You will be contacted by our Teach in Thailand coordinator to complete a phone interview.

- Personal Statement Essay
- Resume
- Two typed letters of recommendation from a past employer or teacher (keep the originals for your records)
- Copies of all Diplomas and Certificates relevant to your education and training
- Photocopy of passport photo page
- 2 passport photos
- $500 Deposit on the Registration Fee
